Barbara Johnson died on October 15, 2021. She was born on May 10, 1927, at Chanute, KS, the second child of T.F. Dunham and Edyth Darlington Dunham.
Barbara graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1945 and from Hutchinson Junior College in 1947.
On June 10, 1947, she married Robert W. Johnson. He died December 8, 1980.
Barbara was a member of St. Teresa Church and of their Altar Society. She was a 70 year member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary – Unit #68 Hutchinson.
She was retired from the Reno County Health Department.
Survivors: daughters, Victoria Hindes (Jim), Denver, Colorado, Valerie Line, Hutchinson, and Jeanie Weeks (Alan), Hutchinson; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; best friend and companion, Olen Mitchell; and several nephews, nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; brother, Lee Dunham; son-in-law, Rich Line; and granddaughter, Charley Line.
Rosary will be 6:30 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary. The family will meet with friends immediately following the rosary. Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th, Hutchinson, with Father Matt Glazier officiating both services. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021, through Saturday, October 23, 2021, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association for the Bob Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund, or Kansas Honor Flight, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
