Barbara Ann McVey, 77, of South Hutchinson, died November 4, 2019, at her home. She was born May 6, 1942, in Vallejo, CA, to Henry and Helen (Lewellen) Bechthold.

Barbara graduated from Hutchinson High School, Salt City Business College, and Hutchinson Community College. She worked as a medication aide at Wesley Towers and as a nurse assistant at McCandless Elementary and Hutchinson High School.

On May 27, 1967, she married Earl E. 'Mac' McVey in Hutchinson. He died October 4, 2012, after sharing 45 years of marriage.

Barbara is survived by: children, Lanny McVey (Dawn) of Buhler, Tina Bell of Hutchinson; sister, Bonnie Byrun of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Zayne McVey.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Wesley Towers Evans Chapel, 3709 Asbury Drive, Hutchinson, with Pastor Luke Helmuth officiating.
