Barbara Louise Park, 90, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Hilltop Manor, Cunningham.
She was born in Grinnell November 17, 1922, the daughter of Leo and Lillian Gookins Brown.
She was a 1939, graduate of Grinnell High School, attended Colorado Women's College, a member of Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of Order of Eastern Star, Silver Leaf Chapter #464 and had been a volunteer for VITA Income Tax Preparers. She was a tax collector for the State of Kansas.
On November 14, 1942, she married Clarence Leonard Park, in Hutchinson. He died January 6, 2006.
She is survived by: two sons and their spouses, Larry and Candy, Ashland, and Steve and Cindy, Hutchinson; a sister, Carole and Delbert Shultz, Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Barry and Angie Park, Monti Park, Lori and Drew Conrad, Stephanie and Dusty Arnold, and Mandy and Lucky Keller; eight great-grandchildren, Connor and Zach Park, Blake Park, Jaetyn Conrad, Zane, Coy and Carlee Arnold, and Calli Jo Keller.
Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Teresa Wynn officiating. Friends may sign her book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Private burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
