Barbara Jeannine Schoenhoff, 78, died June 14, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Sterling, to William Howard and Minnie Anna Proffitt Diggs.

On Feb. 8, 1948, she married John W. Schoenhoff in Wichita Fall s, Texas. He died Aug. 19, 1985. Barbara was retired from Wal-Mart.

Survivors include: three sons, Johnny Jr., Craig and Michael Schoenhoff, all of Hutchinson; brother, Norman Diggs of Wichita; two sisters, Joyce Diggs of Dallas, Texas, and Judy Georgie of Topeka; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Sherry Major, grandson, Shane Schoenhoff, brother, Donald Diggs, and sister, Betty Day.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, with Chaplain Bob Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
