Obituary

Belva J. Swain, 73, of Hutchinson, died November 22, 2011, at Promise Regional Medical Center.

She was born December 28, 1937, in McPherson, the daughter of Emery and Margaret Hart Jones.

She attended school in Hutchinson. She was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson and was a homemaker. She dedicated her life to her family.

Belva married Thomas "Tom" C. Swain on June 14, 1957, in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Thomas R. Swain and wife Nancy, Bushton; a daughter, Cindy Gimar and husband Joe, Hutchinson; a brother, Robert Jones, Cheney; four grandsons, Elliott Swain, Samuel Swain, Addison Swain, and Caleb Gimar; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Swain. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a half-brother, Clifford Magazine.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Keith Koch and Pastor Thomas R. Swain presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
