Benjamin “Ben” Caudillo, 75, died July 14, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home in Hutchinson. He was born September 3, 1950, in Hutchinson, KS, to Narciso and Rachel (Razo) Caudillo.

Just after completing his time at Hutchinson High School, Ben selflessly enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served with honor and courage, forming lifelong friendships with the men who stood beside him. After his time in the military, Ben continued his career as a trackman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway for several years until his retirement, 15 years ago.

Ben had a deep passion for music, especially the timeless songs of The Beatles and the soulful voice of Janis Joplin. He was also a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and eagerly anticipated every game, cheering them on through each season. Ben also enjoyed watching combat sports, especially boxing. Whether cheering on his favorite fighters or simply enjoying the thrill of competition.

In 1971, Ben married Linda J. Guthrie, in Hutchinson. Together, they built a life full of love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Ben is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Linda Caudillo of Hutchinson; daughter, Leticia Caudillo of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Erica (Dominick Willoughby) Caudillo of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Jayllen Caudillo, Dominick Willoughby Jr., and Lillyana Caudillo; brothers, Ronald Caudillo and Joseph Caudillo both of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Narciso and Rachel Caudillo; son, Bruce Caudillo; and sister, Susie Wilson.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Elliott Chapel. Cremation will follow after the service. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026.
