Bennie Lewis Murdock Jr., 57, of Hutchinson, passed away Dec. 20, 2016, at Via Christi on St. Francis, Wichita. He was born April 13, 1959, in Wichita, to Bennie Lewis Sr. and Beulah D. (Williams) Murdock.
Bennie graduated from South High School, Wichita, in 1978. He grew up raising hogs with his father and was a former employee of Winchester Packing Co. Bennie retired in 1992 after developing renal kidney failure. He was a member of the National Kidney Foundation.
On May 9, 1987, he married Stanley Thompson in Hutchinson. They shared 29 years of marriage. He is survived by: wife, Stanley of the home; sons, Lemuel, Gregory, Atrell, Samuel, John, and Dustin; brothers, Dwight and Steven Williams and John Murdock; sisters, Elessa Ferguson, Janet Lowe, Lucinda, Brenda, Janice, and Evelyn Murdock; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; over 150 nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eddie and Leonard Murdock; and sisters, Faye Davis, and Peach Ella Ward.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with the Reverend William J. Green Sr. officiating. Friends may call from 9-9 Tuesday, with family to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
