Benny Ross Hodges, 59, Hutchinson, died Feb. 13, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
He was born May 21, 1950, at Hutchinson, the son of Benny R. and Betty J. Snyder Hodges.

He was a 1968 graduate of Buhler High School and had attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a resident of Hutchinson and an independent contractor. He belonged to Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson.

He is survived by: a son David B. and wife Chris of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Dione M. Hodges of Overland Park; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Other survivors include: his mother, Betty J. Hodges of Hutchinson; two sisters, Susan E. Hill of Hutchinson and Jacolyn J. Wood and husband Roger of Wichita; three brothers, Jimmy R. and wife Linda of Aztec, N.M., Donald D. and wife Amy of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jerry L. and wife Cheslea of Indianapolis; a friend, Helen Irving of Hutchinson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Park Place Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery and Pastor Tom Dillwith presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church in care of the mortuary.
