Bernice Louise Flanders' Obituary
Bernice Louise Flanders, 80, died May 28, 2008, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 6, 1928, in Stafford, daughter of Walter Leroy Sr. and Ella Gere Kent. She was a 1946 graduate of Stafford High School and a 1948 graduate of Salt City Business College. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Countryside Baptist Church.
On April 25, 1948, she married William Mervin Flanders in Stafford. He died July 21, 2007.
Survivors include: son, Brad and wife Tangela, Wentzville, Mo.; daughters, Rita Kelsey and husband Vern, Jefferson City, Mo., Debbi Williams and husband Bob, Hutchinson; brother Walter L. Kent, Jr., Pine Bluff, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dillard Earl Kent; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Countryside Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Destry M. Cowell presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Stafford Cemetery, Stafford. Memorials may be sent to the church in care of mortuary.
