ESTES PARK, Colorado - Bernice G. Perkins, 89, died May 9, 2008, at Estes Park Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1918, in Rooks County, Ks, the daughter of Roy E. and Jennie Smith Adams. She was a resident of Hutchinson from 1947 to 1996, then moved to Estes Park, Colo. She started working at the former St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1953, and retired from Hutchinson Hospital in 1983.
She belonged to the First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson.
On Aug. 16, 1939, she married Victor S. Perkins, near Woodston, Ks. He died July 1, 1992. Survivors include: two daughters, Meradith Stockley, West Jordan, Utah and Marva Woodward, Estes Park, Colo.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Brian D. Smith presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
