Bert P. Neufeld, 78, died March 9, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Inman, the son of Jacob and Katherine (Pauls) Neufeld.
Bert graduated from Inman High School and then served in the United States Army for two years. He worked for Cessna for 24 years and then was the building and grounds supervisor for USD 313, Buhler School District for many years. Bert was a member of First Mennonite Church and the Mid Kansas Mustang Club.
On Oct. 25, 1958, he married Arlis Voth in Moundridge. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Brian Neufeld and wife Jana of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Katie Neufeld and Skyler Neufeld, both of North Carolina, Jess Neufeld, Emily Neufeld and Ashley Neufeld, all of Hutchinson; siblings, Walter Neufeld and wife Frieda of Moundridge, Peter Neufeld and wife Onalee of Hutchinson, Bertha Miller and husband Kenny of Indiana, Elfrieda Funk and husband Marvin of Hillsboro, Ed Neufeld of Olathe, Esther Reiger of Hutchinson, Arnie Neufeld and wife Helen of Inman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at First Mennonite Church, Hutchinson, with Pastors Tonya Wenger and Nathan Koontz presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place.
