Bert L. Stockton, 82, of Hutchinson, died August 14, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Bert was born Nov. 5, 1929, at Prague, Okla., the son of Lewis and Ola Foster Stockton. He graduated from Prague High School. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 2550, both of Hutchinson. He was a retired truck driver for Krause Plow of Hutchinson.
Bert married Ruth Fowler on Feb. 11, 1972, in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Don Stockton; a daughter, Judy Leasure and husband Vance, all of Hutchinson; a stepson, Kenneth Fowler, Buhler; three stepdaughters, Barbara Woelk and husband Darrell, Georgetown, Texas, Kim Carraway and husband John, Wichita, and Anita Schwartzkopf and husband Jon, Loveland, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bert was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Randy Stockton, three brothers, and four sisters.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ray E. Kempel presiding. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mt. Scott Cemetery, Lawton, Okla. A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
