SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Beryl L. Lander, 86, died May 30, 2008, at the Hutchinson Hospital. She was born May 18, 1922, in Wichita, the daughter of Paul Griffin and Bertha Hanes Pool.

She graduated from Wichita East High School. She was a homemaker and had worked for Continental Trailways Bus Co. She was a member of the Culture Club, Drama Guild, United Methodist Women, all of Stafford. She was an avid Bowler and Golfer.

On Aug. 19, 1949, she married Wesley "Wes" L. Lander in Wichita. He died Oct. 26, 2002.

Survivors include: daughter, Carolyn Post, Garden City; brother, Paul Pool, Kirkland, WA; seven grandchildren, Larry Byer, Concord NH, Allison Stiverson, Andover, Chris Weber, Brenda Stubby, and Darin Byer, all of Derby, Brian Post of Santa Margarita, Calif., Brenda Jones of Sioux Falls SD.; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a daughter Dee Anne Byer, a grandson, and a great-grandson.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson, with Chaplain Todd Schlosser presiding. Graveside service will be in Stafford Cemetery at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to Mennonite Manor, in care of the funeral home.
