Bessie F. Hooker's Obituary
Bessie Fern Hooker, 82, died Nov. 27, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Liberal, the daughter of Elmer and Susie Orth Summers. A resident of Hutchinson since 1977, moving from Arlington, she was a homemaker.
She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 Auxiliary for 45 years.
On March 15, 1949, she married John C. Hooker. He died Aug. 29, 1985.
Survivors include her children and spouses: Carol and Ken Neufeld, Wichita, John D. and JoAnne Hooker, South Hutchinson, and Fred Hooker, Tyler, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Bob Gleason presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
Memorials may be sent to the VFW Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 Auxiliary Cancer Fund, in care of the funeral home.
