Betty Jean "BJ" Dixon, 86, died March 21, 2009 at Golden Plains Health Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born March 10, 1923 in Los Angeles, CA to Homer and Ann Dahlke Eberle.

She was a 1941 graduate of Wymore High School, Wymore, NE. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, formerly of McPherson, she was a homemaker and former switchboard telephone operator. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

On July 1, 1947 she married Marshall George Dixon in McPherson. He survives. Other survivors include a son: Michael Tim Dixon, Hutchinson; cousins, nieces and nephews: Dee Ann & Tom Easley, Julie Zadinsky, Carla & Floyd Pearson, Lori & Jeff Tector, Lisa & Kevin Schmidt, Gena & Steve Steffes, Dale & Lenore Carpenter, and Janet Rawson; and a brother-in-law: Dean Chinberg; and a sister-in-law: Barbara Eberle.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert & Joel Eberle and a sister Norma Chinberg.

Memorial Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at McPherson City Cemetery with Chaplain Michael Hambley officiating. Cremation has taken place.
