Betty J. Brown, 94, of Hutchinson, died December 16, 2017, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born December 25, 1922, in Independence to Elmer and Agnes (Tyler) Main. Betty graduated from Independence High School. She was a 50-year member of First Christian Church and then attended New Life Christian Church. Betty worked at Caldwell Greenhouse, and gardening was very important to her.

On June 8, 1947, she married Glenn E. Brown in Independence. He died November 14, 1999.

Betty is survived by: son, Gary Brown and wife Jill of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Devin Storm of Hutchinson and Paige Brown of Kansas City; sisters, Jolene Cahlton of Commerce City, CO, Gwen Main of Parsons, and Peggy Brown of St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Bob, Carl, Edward; sister, Phyllis McKelvey; and son, Mark.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor John Frey officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
