Betty Ebeling, 69, died Nov. 27, 2010, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Dodge City, Kan., the daughter of Harold and Eleanora Steffan Blackwell.
Betty attended St. Teresa's Catholic High School, Salt City Business College and Hutchinson Junior College. She co-founded Ebeling Construction with her husband Charles and retired from Bank of America and Hutchinson National Bank. Betty was a member of Bethany Church of the Nazarene. She did volunteer missionary work in Mississippi after hurricane Katrina, as well as in Mexico and Costa Rica and was also a retired board member for the Friends of the Zoo.
On Nov. 22, 1967, she married Charles L. Ebeling in Hutchinson. He died Dec. 1, 1996. She later married Donald Leon Magby July 20, 2002, in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: four daughters, Terri Banker of Inman, Cheryl Riemann and husband Gene of South Hutchinson, Marcia Trebilcock and husband Greg of Wichita, and Cindy Childs and husband Glen of Hutchinson; two sons, Mark Ebeling and wife Lorry of Hutchinson, and Bill Ebeling and wife Brenda of Buhler; a sister, Sarah Joanne Mendoza of Chase, Kan.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Bethany Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Darrell Bisel presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.
Private family inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum in Hutchinson at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Council of Reno County, Friends of the Zoo or Bethany Church of the Nazarene.
