Betty J. Elliott, 77, died June 8, 2010 at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born November 27, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to William S. and Opal Mae Davis Jones. Betty graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO in 1951 and from the Research Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO in 1953.

She was a registered nurse at the former Grace Hospital from 1954-1957 and a homemaker. Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson and belonged to PEO Chapter BL.

On September 5, 1954, she married Donald R. Elliott in Independence, Mo. He survives. Other survivors include three sons: Stan and wife Jana of Austin, TX, Tom and wife Carolyn of Hutchinson, and Paul and wife Shannon of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren: Matt of Dallas, TX, Katie of Austin, TX, Paige and Elizabeth of Lawrence, Amanda and Lexie of Houston, TX and Claire of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Sherman, Hutchinson with Rev. Amy Dame officiating. Private family graveside service will be at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie. Friends may call from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday and 9:00 am – 9:00 pm Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association, Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers, or the First Presbyterian Church in care of Elliott Mortuary.
