LYONS - Betty Jane Ford, 87, died Dec. 1, 2013, at Good Samaritan Center of Lyons. She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Henry Clay and Cornelia J. Pennington Pitcher.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lyons and a former member of Countryside Baptist Church, Hutchinson. She retired from USD 308 working in the Food Service Department.
On June 18, 1944, she married Ralph Kenneth Ford in McPherson, Kan. He died Aug. 17, 2003.
Survivors include: son, Gary Ford of Sioux City, Iowa; daughters, Cynthia Ann Hill of Burnsville, MN, Sharon Quinn and husband John of Lyons, Kan.; grandchildren, Jason Hill, Jennifer Anderson and husband Steve, Allison Mishica and husband Jason, Robert Hill, Isaac Quinn and wife Brandy, Kristen Cook and husband Paul, Letitia Brice and husband Dave, Tyson Ford; 12 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Joel Grizzle presiding. Burial to follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
