Betty Gene Gore, 77, died March 28, 2012, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Oct. 20, 1934, Ginger Blue, Mo., to Bruce and Mary Ellen Burrow Woodworth.

On June 20, 1951, she married Gene Gore in Hutchinson. She worked in the Cessna Cafeteria and then was a CNA at Grace Hospital and Hutchinson Hospital. Betty was a member of South Hutchinson United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Gene; son, Michael Gore and wife Shelly; two daughters, Marilyn "Mary" Hornbeck and husband Gary and Robyn Miller and husband Clark, all of Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Christopher Gore, Laura Miller, George Hornbeck, Megan Gore and Nick Miller; three great-grandchildren, Harley Gore, Sydney Gore and Braylee Miller; step-granddaughter, Shelley Conner; and two sisters, Dessie Kidd and Joyce Vansickle, both of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Lynn Gore; her parents; and several brothers.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tim Ault-Duell officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family to receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the mortuary.
