Obituary

Betty Jean White, 87, died July 30, 2013, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born March 15, 1926, in Pratt, Kan., to John Henry Sr. and Burverlee M. (Bible) Hoffman.

Betty was a 1945 graduate of Hutchinson High School and a member of Crossroads Christian Church.

On Jan. 12, 1944, she married James R. White Sr. in Pratt. He died Nov. 21, 2004.

She worked for Consolidated Rebuilders, where she retired after 21 years.

Survivors include: sons, James R. White Jr. (Brenda) of Buhler, Rodney White (Mona) of Hutchinson; daughters, Cindy Allenbach (Michael) of Inman, Sandra Robinson (Brent King) of South Hutchinson, Joyce Ann White of Hutchinson; a sister, Dorothy Edwards of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Paul Allenbach; granddaughters, Stacy Allenbach and Rhonda Snyder; great-grandson, Gage Johnston; brothers, Jack, Richard, Robert and Frank Hoffman; and a sister, Beverly Thompson.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Burial to follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
