Obituary

Betty Lou Killingsworth, 77, passed away August 26, 2012, at her home after a courageous battle with a short illness. She was born on Aug. 19, 1935, in Independence , Kan., the daughter of Paul LeRoy and Bertha Spaulding (Dillon) Holmes.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953. Betty had worked for IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union, East Moline, Illinois, she also worked for Braun's Clothing Store in Minneapolis, Minn. and for the past 12 years had delivered Meals On Wheels. She was a longtime member of Westbrook Baptist Church, now known as CrossPoint Church.

On Sept. 11, 1955, she married James Edward Killingsworth in Hutchinson. He died Jan. 12, 1999.

Survivors include: four children, Juna Keever and husband Jim of Hutchinson, Russell Killingsworth and wife Diana of Rock Island, Ill., Amy Sutcliffe and husband James of Leo, Ind., Darren Killingsworth of Hutchinson; three sisters, Donna Borntrager of Burrton, Cleo Webber of Chanute, Doris Bowen of Fort Meyers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Chelsey Trevino of Houston, Texas, Nathan Keever of Yukon, Okla., David Keever of North Newton, Stephanie Clifton and Joshua Killingsworth of East Moline, Ill., Arazi Bashaw of Rock Island, Ill., Brittaney Sutcliffe of Fort Wayne, Ind., Haley Sutcliffe of Leo, Ind., James and Brentt Killingsworth, both of Hutchinson; two great-granddaughters; and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin daughters, Victoria and Vanessa; a sister, Georgia Helm; and a granddaughter.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at Elliott Chapel with Herb Stange presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
