Betty M. Ratzlaff, 83, of Hutchinson, died July 2, 2011, at Thorne Care Center at Wesley Towers. She was born Oct. 1, 1927, at Buhler, the daughter of John and Alice Warkentine Wall. She graduated from Buhler High School in 1945. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She had worked for 17 years as a secretary at Bell Credit Union and was a homemaker.
Betty married Ray E. Ratzlaff on Oct. 19, 1946, in Buhler. He died December 18, 2009. Survivors include: a son, Ron Ratzlaff (Mary Ann) Hutchinson; a grandson, Anthony Bauder (Mai), Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; a granddaughter, Tiffany Ratzlaff, Hutchinson; 5 great-grandchildren, Tierra, Taylor, Peyton, Kambria and Kelsyn. She was preceded in death by three infant children, Daryl Ray, Lonnie Duane and Jean Ann; a daughter, Kay Ratzlaff, in September 2008; and two brothers, Lester Wall and Elmer Wall.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Inurnment will be in the Buhler Cemetery. A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and the family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, all at Elliott Mortuary.
