Obituary

Betty Jane (Fay) Schofield, 83, of Hutchinson, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Pleasant View Home in Inman. She was a self-employed housekeeper and worked in housekeeping at Hutchinson Hospital.

Betty was born July 25, 1938, in Carrollton, IL, the daughter of Louis and Minnie (Jackson) Fay.  She married Irvin Schofield, Sr., on April 4, 1954, in Enid, OK.  He preceded her in death on August 9, 1978.

She was hard working, stubborn, and feisty, as well as a supportive, devoted, and loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by:  son, Irvin Schofield, Jr. (Rosalie) of Hutchinson; two daughters, Betty 'Nen' Lyons of San Diego, CA, and Becky Schofield (Darrin) of Hutchinson; grandchildren, David (Lacey), Nen Felker (Aaron), Heather MacMahon (Anthony), Randalyn Lyons, Brandy Harris (Steve), Nathan (Debbie), Daniel Lyons (Marla), and Catherine Hook (Ed); and numerous great-grandchildren children.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; husband; siblings; infant son, David Wayne; and great-grandson, Gerard Cruz.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Caroline Morris officiating.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2022, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Betty Jane Schofield Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
