Betty J. Shull's Obituary
Betty J. Shull, 84, died Nov. 23, 2007, at Buhler Sunshine Home.
She was born Nov. 3, 1923, at Braman, Okla., the daughter of Lorenzo Arthur and Elizabeth Patton Sturm. She was a 1942 graduate of Blackwell High School, Blackwell Okla. She was a retired custodian for USD 428, Great Bend.
She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, and the Golden Belt Rockhound Society.
On Sept. 5, 1942, she married W.A. "Bill" Shull at Blackwell, Okla. He died Dec. 30, 1998.
Survivors include: a son, Kevin R. Shull and wife Kim, Buhler; a daughter-in-law, Linda Shull, Great Bend; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way.
She was preceded in death by: a son, William R. Shull; a brother, Ralph E. Sturm; and three sisters, Verna Penick, Verda Rumbaugh and Barbara McClarnon.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Okla., with Stan Rumbaugh officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
