Betty Ann Winter, 89, died September 26, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born January 20, 1920 in Nickerson, Kansas the daughter of W.S. & Eva Greene Shuler.
On October 4, 1943 she married Frank Edward Winter in Hutchinson. He died June 25, 1994.
Betty graduated from Nickerson High School and Hutchinson Community College. A former office worker for Lowen's Corp. she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, Ladies Altar Society and My Friends Club both of the church and Chapter Q PEO-Golden Girl. She spent many hours volunteering for Early Ed., Hutchinson Hospital ICU, Children's Bible Study of the church, and reading books to grade school children as a member of R.S.V.P., she also enjoyed playing bridge at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center.
Survivors include, a son, Frank Winter, Jr. and wife Bernice, Hutchinson; two daughters, Mary Ann Young, Arvada, CO. and Carolyn Piken, Hutchinson, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Services include Parish Rosary at 6:30 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009 and a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 6, 2009 both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
