Beulah N. Fast, 85, died Sept. 23, 2007, at Hester Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson.
She was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Lexington, Ky., the daughter of Clyde D. and Esta Ann Johnson Sturgeon. She was a resident of Hutchinson. She went to Hutchinson High School, graduating with the class of 1940. She was homemaker and worked for five years in the kitchen at the Union Valley School, Hutchinson. She and her husband Bill worked for nine winters at Rio Grande Children's Home, Mission, Texas.
She belonged to the Union Valley Bible Church and The "Young at Heart" group at the Delos V. Smith Senior Center.
On Aug. 17, 1940, she married Ezra S. "Bill" Fast in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: four sons, Harold Fast and wife, Wilma A., Hutchinson, Larry Fast, Hutchinson, Phillip Fast and wife, Wilma L., Hutchinson, and Bill Fast and wife, Pam, Buhler; a daughter, Mary Ann Fast, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Fast; and two brothers, Darwin Sturgeon and James Fall.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Union Valley Bible Church with Pastor Steve Hodgson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
