Beverly J. Spencer, 69, died Aug. 1, 2008, at her home, South Hutchinson.

She was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Samuel Edward and Mabel Eska Jones Lemen Sr. She had worked for Wiley's Department Store, and retired from Dillards.

She belonged to The Fathers House, Women of the Moose, Hutchinson Chapter No. 1371, and she loved to play bingo.

On Aug. 28, 1958, she married Gene D. Spencer Sr. in Hutchinson. He died July 4, 1985. Survivors include: two sons, Gene "David" Spencer Sr., and Randy Spencer, both of Hutchinson; a daughter, Julie Fehrenbacher, Hutchinson; two brothers, Meryl Lemen Sr. and Gerald "Gary" Lemen, both of Hutchinson; four sisters, Marylyn Case, Shirley Ahrens and Judith "Judy" Tomlin, all of Hutchinson, and Sharon Zimmerman, Sterling; five grandchildren, Gina L., Amber M., Ashley D. and Katie J. Spencer, all of Hutchinson, and Melissa Corkins, Wichita; and a great-granddaughter, Raelynn D. Spencer.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Samuel E. Lemen Sr., Raymond C. Lemen, Donald C. Lemen Sr., Phillip W. Lemen Sr. and Max E. Lemen; and three grandchildren, Aaron M. Spencer, Richard A. Etzwiler-Spencer and Madison E. Etzwiler-Spencer.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
