Billie G. "Bill" Castle, 78, died March 19, 2011, at Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers. He was born April 23, 1932, in Hutchinson, the son of George W. and Mabel A. Davis Castle. He graduated from Nickerson High School in 1950 and attended Hutchinson JUCO. Bill was a barber and former owner of the Larkland Barber Shop. He was also a member of the Nickerson Masonic Lodge #43.

On Dec. 9, 1951, he married Maxine Lintecum in Nickerson. She died Dec. 14, 2005. Survivors include: a daughter, Yvonne Pickerill and husband Bob, Overland Park, Ks.; two sons, Rex Castle, Hutchinson, and Dow Castle, Hutchinson; four grandsons, Brad Pickerill, Pittsburg, Ks., Doug Pickerill and wife Brooklyn, Overland Park, Ks., Zac Castle, Kansas City, Ks., and Cole Castle, Hutchinson, and a great-grandson, Cash Pickerill, Overland Park, Ks.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Pickerill.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard Stafford presiding. Friends may call 12 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
