Obituary

Billie Dean "Bill" Day, 68, died May 29, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born on Aug. 7, 1938, in Buffalo, the son of Fred C. and Ida Marguerite Osborne Day. He was a longtime resident of Hutchinson. He was a retired Mechanic for Eaton Corp. He served in U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960.

He was of the Methodist Faith.

On March 1, 1959, he married Lillian Faye Schwatken in Los Angeles. She survives.

Other survivors include: one son, Michael Dean Day, Burrton; a daughter, Laurie Ann Jones, Hutchinson; a brother, Harold E. Day, Wichita; three sisters, Betty Elsten, Wichita, Gladys F. Murry, Wichita, and Barbara A. Fogle, Orangeburg, S.C.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: two daughters, Sharon Kaye Day and Karen Faye Smith.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel with Rev. Jim Gundy presiding. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation will be at 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by Naval Honor Guard, Wichita.
