Billie Orwig's Obituary
Billie Orwig, 81, died May 19, 2008, at Clare Bridge Brookdale Senior Center in Wichita.
She was born Jan. 2, 1927, at Atwood Okla., to George and Ola McKenzie Stallings.
She was a Hutchinson resident since 1974 moving from Manhattan. She graduated from Wewoka (Okla.) High School. She was a homemaker, and for many years worked as school secretary at Abilene High School.
She belonged to the First Congregational Church, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Tole Painting Society, and study club.
On April 19, 1946, she married Thomas W. Orwig in Wewoka Okla. He died March 16, 1995.
Survivors include: sons, Peter Orwig, Overland Park; daughters, Kathey Gibbs, Augusta; Beth Schroder, Martinez, Ga.; five grandchildren; and one great grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchison.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas or First Congregational Church. Personal condolences may be left at www.elliottmortuary.com.
