Billy Martin 'Bill' Rowland, 87, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, and is now with Jesus in his heavenly home. He was born January 15, 1932, in Hutchinson, to Martin and Mary (Burdick) Rowland.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Buhler High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a realtor and broker, housing developer, and builder for several housing additions in the Hutchinson area. In addition, Bill owned an oil business, built and operated Hidden Valley Downs, (which was a race track and riding stables located in rural Hutchinson). He also built and operated a trap shoot range and owned Shane Housing. Bill was a founder and member of his beloved Union Valley Bible Church, Hutchinson. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family, especially for holiday gatherings.

In 1950, he married Anne Sutton. Later, he married Jewell Berdina (Isbell) Rowland in 1960 and 1999, twice!

Bill is survived by: wife, Jewell; daughters, Bilinda Sharp (Larry), Kristine Dean (Jerry), all of Hutchinson, Sheri Gray of Kansas City, Kansas; sons, Randy Rempel (Mark) of Las Vegas, NV, Barry Rempel (Joyce) of Goddard; grandchildren, Luke Sharp, Laci Chastain, Adam Sharp, Jonathan Dean, Jason Gray, Stephanie Gray, Nathan Rempel, Jeremiah Rempel, Suzi Frye, Traci Smith, Pam Love; and great-grandchildren, Ryker, Carson, Bryton, Regan and Scarlett, Jamie, Kendrick, Ashton, Shia and Qourtney, Sarah and Grace, Devon, Kody, Eliathan, William, Leslie, and Makayla, Steven, Matthew, Hailey and Amira, Savannah, Maclain, Mara and Krasen, Levi and Lily.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; infant son, Billy Martin, Jr.; Billy, Bilinda, Sheri, and Kristine's mother, Anne (Sutton) Blakey; brother, Wayne; sisters, Grace Bridgewater, Helen England, June Rich, and Wilma Jean Martin; son-in-law, Rodney Gray; and grandson, Jeffrey Dean.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019, at Union Valley Bible Church, 1916 E. 30th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial are suggested to the church, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
