Billy G. "Bill" Cotton, 77, died Jan. 8, 2006, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born March 16, 1928, in Hutchinson, the son of George Washington and Lottie Alice Wakefield Cotton. A lifetime resident of the Hutchinson area, he retired as a sampler-weighmaster for Kansas State Grain Inspection Department.
He belonged to Westside Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II from 1946 to 1949.
On Oct. 9, 1956, he married Patricia A. "Pat" Tadlock in Sallisaw, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Billy Gene Blackburn and Mark Cotton, both of South Hutchinson; three daughters, Barbara Elaine Stiggins, Wichita, Kathy Kirby, Mount Hope, and Dorothy McAllister, Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a godson, Jason Wheatley, South Hutchinson; and numerous cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Merle, Ronald and twin brother, Bobby; and a sister, Doris Elaine Cotten.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Eldon Smith presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with military graveside honors conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
