Billy Eugene Schrock, 85, of Plevna, died August 5, 2019, at his residence. He was born August 3, 1934, in Plevna, to William and Bertha (Stuckey) Schrock.
Billy graduated from Plevna High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a mail clerk for the United States Post Office and retired after 28 years of service. Billy served in the United States Army, was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, and a member of the American Postal Workers Union. He was an avid Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon fan and attended the National Junior College Athletic Association Basketball tournament every year.
On May 22, 1964, Billy married Darlene Frye in Hutchinson. They shared over 55 years of marriage.
He is survived by: wife, Darlene Schrock, Plevna; daughter, Barbara (Dwane) Jones, Pratt; son, Johnny Schrock, Salem, OR; daughters, Tina Howell, Hutchinson, and Wendy (Jesh) Batra, Lewisville, TX; sister, Elnor Gear, Boulder City, NV; brother, Gene (Mary Ellen) Schrock, Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Marilyn Schrock, South Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Toni Trotter; grandson, Jeremy Ellis; sisters, Mildred Schrock and Kathryn Koons; brother, Richard Schrock; brothers-in-law, Calvin Bailey and Roy Gear.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Family will greet friends from 9 a.m. to service time on Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
