PARTRIDGE - Billy R. Wulfemeyer, 77, died Nov. 25, 2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita.
He was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Deepwater, Mo., the son of Will and Nellie Chiles Wulfemeyer. He graduated in 1946 from Abbyville High School. A lifelong Abbyville resident, he was a wheat farmer and cattleman in the Partridge and Abbyville communities. He was a man that loved the earth.
He belonged to the Abbyville Community Church. He had sung at many special events, weddings and funerals, including the "Star Spangled Banner" at the Abbyville Frontier Days Rodeo for 43 years. He was an incredible man, father, grandfather, brother and a great, great friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him so much.
In 1949, he married Harriet Swenson, and they had two children.
Survivors include: a son, William Mark, and his wife, Amy, Leawood; a daughter, Teresa Reimer, South Hutchinson; a sister, Vera Schipper, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, whom he adored, Shaun Reimer and Lily Wulfemeyer.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Wulfemeyer; and a sister, Jewel Moser.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith A. Dellenbach presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery.
