Blanche Ione Gibson's Obituary
Ione Gibson, 93, of Hutchinson, formerly of Macksville, died March 1, 2012, at Good Samaritan Center in Hutchinson.
Ione was born Sept. 16, 1918, at Hopewell, the daughter of Patrick and Gwen Mills Gardner.
She was a graduate of Trousdale High School and was a homemaker. She was a Christian and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Her family was a major focus of her life.
Ione married John Phillip Gibson on Aug. 2, 1941, at St. John. He died Aug. 8, 1991.
Survivors include: a son, Garry Gibson and wife Diana of Larned; a daughter, Mary Michel and husband Ronald of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a great great-grandson. Ione was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Farmington Cemetery at Macksville, with Pastor Bob Albin presiding. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, all at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Good Samaritan Center, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
