Obituary

Blanche B. Koenig, 94, died November 8, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born October 3, 1919, in Norge, Virginia, the daughter of John M. and Ella K. (Hovelsrud) Brenegan. She was a graduate of Toano High School, Virginia, in 1936, and Draughon Business College in Springfield, Missouri, in 1946. Blanche served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1943 to 1945, in Disbursing as a SK (D) 2C.
She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, the V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361 and the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.
On November 18, 1945, she married Elmer Edwin Ladd in Norge, Virginia. He died February 24, 1970. On October 25, 1999, she married Leonard V. Koenig in Branson, Missouri. He died January 8, 2009.
Survivors include: sons, Larry S. Ladd, Ed Ladd and wife Jeanette, all of Hutchinson; stepson, Raymond L. Koenig and wife Dorothy of Wichita; grandchildren, Ashley Ladd, Marshall S. Ladd, Miranda Schmutz, and Jason Schmutz and wife Sheena.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Vicar Henry Blickhahn presiding. Friends may call 9-9 Sunday and Monday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
