Bob Carl, 52, died Feb. 13, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Oct. 13, 1955, at Kansas City, Mo., the son of Joseph E. and Norine L. Schmidt Carl. He was a Hutchinson resident since July 2007, moving from St. George, Utah, and formerly a resident of Dodge City. He graduated from Shawnee-Mission North West High School. He was a construction supervisor for Charter Communications in St. George and prior to that he was a district manager with Cox Communications in Dodge City.
He was a member of A.B.A.T.E. of Kansas, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge of St. George. He served in the U.S. Army.
On Aug. 18, 1973, he married Linda Van Derhagen; he later married Pamela Veatch on Nov. 12, 2005, at Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Erik Carl and fiancé Jonnika, Wichita, Brendon Carl and wife Stacy, Dodge City; two stepsons, Derek Veatch, Wichita, and Shawn Veatch, Kinsley; two brothers, Jim Carl, Shawnee-Mission, and Richard Carl, Salem, Mo.; three sisters, Ann Ashby, Fort Bragg, Calif., Jeannie Clinkenbeard, Kansas City, Mo., and Caroline Goodwin, Kansas City, Kan.; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Father Dennis Zimmerman presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
