GROVE, Okla. - Bobbie F. Ford, 78, died Dec. 20, 2007, at the Grove Nursing Center.
He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Hutchinson, the son of Winifred and Ada Jones Ford. He was a former Hutchinson and Topeka resident.
He belonged to the American Legion, Topeka, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, Grove. He was a chief master sergeant in the Kansas Air National Guard, retiring after 38 years of service. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
On Dec. 1, 2000, he married Shirley J. Puett at Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Thomas Ford, Middleburg, Fla.; three daughters, Patti Ebel, Wichita, Jane Lundemo, Grove, and Shelly Young, Olathe; two stepchildren, Mark Puett, Wilderness, Mo., and Karen Puett, Shawnee; two sisters, Mary Siebert, Pretty Prairie, and Betty Jean Cook, Hutchinson; several grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Lloyd, Leo, Ralph and twin brother Billie; and two sisters, Eleanora and Dixie.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Jane Siebert presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with military honors by the McConnell Air Force Honor Guard.
