Bobby Joe Burnett, 90, died April 4, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.  He was born January 10, 1934, in Powell, MO, to Vernon Clell Burnett, Sr. and Audie (Smith) Burnett.

Bobby served in the United States Army as a military policeman from 1956 to 1958.  He was employed as a welder by Farmland Industries Steel Products Plant, retiring with many years of service.

On August 18, 1962, Bobby married Betty Joan Bunge, in Hutchinson, KS.  They shared over 61 years of marriage.

He is survived by:  his wife, Betty (Bunge) Burnett; daughter, Debbie Robbins; grandson, Austin Robbins; great-grandson, Brantley Robbins; and twin sister, Betty Fehdrau.

Bobby was preceded in death by:  his parents; infant son; and brothers, Vernon Clell Burnett, Jr. and Allen Ross Burnett.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Avenue, Hutchinson, KS.  Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.  Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024, with the family present from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
