Bobby Glen "Bob" Curry, 87, died March 27, 2015, at the Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers. He was born June 14, 1927, in Hutchinson, the son of Marvin and Mahala (Osburn) Curry.
He married Verna Mae Cox, Aug. 5, 1946, in Hutchinson.
Bob retired in 1988, as a general foreman with KPL/Westar Energy, working there 40 years. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the Merchant Marines, the U.S. Army and was a Captain in the Army National Guard. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Verna, of the home; son, Kris Curry and wife Marilyn of Newburgh, Ind.; daughter, Kelly Curry and husband Terry Wilson of Hutchinson; sister, Shirley Swan of Naples, Fla.; four grandchildren, Adam Curry and wife Lori of Dunlap, Ill., Robin Minton and husband Michael of Newburgh, Ind., Meghan Moore and husband Jesse of Denver, and Kristopher Rainsburger of East Gull Lake, Minn.; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Cox, and Carol Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Cremation will take place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
