Bonita May Nestor, 70, passed away May 8, 2015, at her home. She was born June 12, 1944, in Springfield, Mo., to John and Etta May (Boone) Nestor. Bonita graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1962, and Emporia State Teachers College with a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1966. She taught at various grade schools in Hutchinson for over 32 years, and could remember every student she ever had in class.
Bonita was a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church.

Survivors include: sister, Jeanette (Michael) Bates, Hutchinson; niece, Rebecca (Tim) Krase, Buhler; nephew, Chris (Krissy) Bates, Emporia; caregivers and friends, Rosalie Bean and Renee Raya, Hutchinson; and "her girls" and constant companions, Bambi and Termite.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Etta May (Boone) Nestor.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Chris Raigoza presiding. Family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
