Bonnie D. Jantz, 74, died Feb. 21, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
She was born Dec. 20, 1931, in rural Zimmerdale, the daughter of Joseph Allen and Anna Um-holtz Hershberger. She graduated from Sedgwick High School where she was the valedictorian of her class. A resident of Hutchinson since 1953, she was a homemaker and worked for the Kansas State Bank, Newton, and the Dillon Offices, Hutchinson.
She was active and a longtime supporter of the Hutchinson Art Association.
On May 31, 1953, she married Wilbur W. Jantz in Newton. He died Oct. 6, 1987.
Survivors include: a son, Eric, Hutchinson; a daughter, Dee Moore, Hutchinson; four brothers, Dick Hershberger, Mapleton, Kenneth Hershberger, Sedgwick, Joe Hershberger, Hesston, and Carl Hershberger, Lindsborg; two sisters, Alma Ewert, Newton, and Virginia Davison, Sedgwick; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Jones.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Gill presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Zimmerdale.
