Obituary

Bonnie M. Scholtisseck, 92, died Dec. 6, 2013, at Hospice House. She was born May 6, 1921, in Tuttle, N.D., to Albert E. and Lillie M. (Edwards) Cook.

Bonnie graduated from Pratt High School in 1939 and Salt City Business College. She retired from Cheney Door Company. Bonnie kept busy after retirement assisting at South Hutch Stop & Stor setting up the books, renting storage units and answering the telephone. She never quit working and supporting her family until the end. Bonnie was an artist and enjoyed gardening, playing golf and the piano.

On Jan. 5, 1945, she married Victor Scholtisseck Jr. in Newton. He died Oct. 27, 1958.

She is survived by: children, Vicki Jackson and husband Wayne of Hutchinson, Kim Scholtisseck of South Hutchinson; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great great-grandchild on the way.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Morris and Ruby Wilburn.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Roger Neir officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HCC Endowment Association Bonnie Scholtisseck Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.
