Obituary

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Bonnie Emeline Wells, 82, died Jan. 7, 2007, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born May 26, 1924, in Hutchinson, the daughter of James Littleton and Grace Bell Wallace Wilson. A lifetime area resident, wintering in southern Texas for 20-years, she was a homemaker, an Avon representative for 20 years, worked at the Kansas State Fair for 37 years as a gate ticket taker, in the 4-H Encampment dining room, and as a grandstand ticket taker.

She belonged to First Church of God, TOPS and the EHU.

On March 30, 1941, she married Richard J. Wells in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Richard L. and his wife, Carol, Fulshear, Texas, and Gary L. and his wife, Teresa, Ankeny, Iowa; two daughters, Carol S. Burt, Battle Creek, Mich., and Janet K. Herrera and her husband, Rudy, Rancho Mirage, Calif.; a brother, Vernon Wilson, Keys, Okla.; two sisters, Esther Thorington, Tulsa, Okla., Pearl Easter, South Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren, Richard B. Wells, Marble, Colo., David Wells, Scottsdale, Ariz., Jon Wells, St. Charles, Mo., Carla Brown, Louisville, Ky., Renee Spiegel, Columbus, Ohio, Aaron Wells, Gold Canyon, Ariz., Colby Urban, Fontana, Calif., Amanda Wells, Houston, Austin Wells, Fulshear, Texas, Hayleigh Herrera, and Keaton Herrera, both of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; 13 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Barb Roark and her husband, Tim, and their sons Tyler and Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Prince, Elmer and Earl Wilson; a sister, Grace Slabaugh; a son-in-law, Carlton Burt; and a granddaughter, Jackie Argo.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Church of God, with Ron Ogle presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.

Memorials may be sent to Mennonite Manor, or Hospice Care of Kansas, both in care of the funeral home.
