Obituary

Brad H. Galloway, 71, of Partridge, died August 3, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, after battling pancreatic cancer since April, 2023.

He was born October 26, 1952, in Wichita, to Jay H. Galloway and Margie L. (Bradley) Swengel.

Brad graduated from Haven High School in 1972 and attended Eastern New Mexico State on a rodeo scholarship. He owned and operated Galloway Construction and volunteered as a firefighter for Partridge Fire Department (as Chief) and Reno County District 4. Brad enjoyed hunting (especially bow hunting) teaching the grandkids archery, leather tooling, raising, showing and training horses, racing and rodeos. He was a member of Partridge Community Church.

On June 3, 1979, he married Vicki Stiggins, at Partridge Community Church. They shared over 45 years of marriage prior to his death.

Brad is survived by: wife, Vicki Galloway of Partridge; sons, Tyler (Lindsey) Galloway of Nickerson, Wesley (Tish Gaylord) Galloway of Haven; grandchildren, Hunter (Mattyson) Galloway, Talon Lentz, all of Haven, Taylor Galloway, Paisley Galloway and Harper Galloway, all of Nickerson; siblings, Kerrie (Bill) Pruitt of Haven, Lance (Jeni) Galloway of Topeka, Casey (Celia) Galloway of Scottsdale, AZ; aunt Mary Lou Owen of West Palm Beach, Florida and uncle Wilbur and Nancy Bradley of Wichita, cousins and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; father and mother-in-law, Lynn and Naomi Stiggins; sisters-in-laws, Jan Richardson and Ginger Stiggins and his beloved pekingese, Daisy.

A huge thanks to Hutch Clinic Oncology, Dr. Estephan, Sarah Finch and the team of fabulous oncology nurses and staff. And of course, to our own private nurse, Lindsey Galloway, who always did whatever he needed.

Memorial Gathering will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Partridge Community Church, 218 N. Main, Partridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Partridge Community Church (to benefit the Face the Storm memorial fund, which will help those who need support as they face the storms of life); in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
