Braden Eugene Berner, 7, died Feb. 23, 2012, at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita. He was born June 6, 2004, in Lyons.

A second grader at Union Valley Elementary, he was a member of Team Lightning Wrestling Club, Buhler, and Boy Scout Troop #306 in Hutchinson.

Braden is survived by: his parents, Daniel and Laurie Berner, and sister, Alyssa, all of Hutchinson; grandparents, Randi and Alan Green, Ryan and Linda Colborn, all of Hutchinson, and Brian Berner of Reed Spring, Mo.; great-grandparents, Pat Gadbury of Turon and Ronald Berner of Salina; three aunts, Jammie Edwards of Nickerson, Dezirae Morrison of Nixa, Mo., and Breanna Colborn of Hutchinson; two uncles, Brian Moore and Brandon Colborn, both of Hutchinson; seven cousins, Austin, Clayton and Kellie Edwards, Kiley, Kaleb and Kaden Morrison and Ethan Moore. He was preceded in death by grandfather, Wesley Moore and great-grandfather, Fred Gadbury.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at First Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Tom Eastman and Tim Carey and Reverend Mark Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House or Pediatrics, in care of Via Christi Foundation, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

R.I.P. our son you have your wings and can watch over mommy, daddy, and sissybear. You are now in a better place with anything you could want and healthy as you can be.
