Brenda Kay Whisenhunt, 78, formerly of Liberal and Hutchinson, died March 11, 2022, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.  She was born September 17, 1943, in Marshall, MO, to Olin McKee and Ada (Rader) McKee DeMoulin.  Brenda was raised by her mother and stepfather, Ada and Howard DeMoulin.

Brenda graduated from Liberal High School.  Always fascinated by the textures of clothing, she owned her own clothing boutique in Liberal.  In addition, she enjoyed criminal and suspense television shows.  Family was everything to Brenda; she lived for her family, especially her grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by:  daughter, Trenda Matney (Mikel) of Hutchinson; son, Larry Whisenhunt (Amy) of Louisburg, KS; brother, Ron McKee (Anna) of Lawton, OK; and grandchildren, Alyssa Matney, Trenton Matney, Garrett Whisenhunt, Gavin Whisenhunt, and Griffin Whisenhunt.

She was preceded in death by: her mother and stepfather, Ada and Howard DeMoulin; father, Olin McKee; siblings, Don McKee, Judy Hedrick, Bob McKee, Wendel McKee, and Barbara Goldsmith; and granddaughter, Amanda Matney.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Elliott Chapel, with nephew, Steve McKee and son-in-law, Mikel Matney officiating.  Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
