ARLINGTON - Brien Roy "Pete" Peterson, 77, of Arlington, died Sunday at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born August 30, 1932, to Roy and Vivien O'Brien Peterson at Rapid City, S.D.

He attended Chadron Prep School, Chadron, Neb., and graduated 1950, from Cheyenne Wyoming High School, then graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1960. He was a Farmland/Nation Wide insurance adjuster. He belonged to Loyal Order of Moose No. 982, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 and was Episcopalian.

On June 6, 1958, he married Donna L. Kelman at Arlington. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Roy; a brother-in-law, Duane and wife Patty; a sister-in-law, Almagene Hull, all of Arlington; cousins, Janet and Jim Terry, Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Georgia Decker presiding. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday until service time.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Pratt Fish Hatchery, or donor's choice, both in care of the mortuary.
