Brooke Noel Barker's Obituary
On Sunday, May 6, 2007, Brooke Noel Barker of Hutchinson passed away at the age of 23 years.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1983, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Stan and Lisa Schmitt Barker. She attended Hutchinson Public Schools and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2003.
She belonged to and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she participated in LOGOS, and was a member of Chapter BY, PEO, where she served as Guard. She was the founding member of Komfort for Kids, a division of the Cancer Council of Reno County. During high school, she worked for Century 21 Warren Schmitt Real Estate and most recently was an Avon representative.
Survivors include: her parents; three brothers, Dan and his wife, Nicole Barker, Olathe, Ross Barker and his fiancee Chelsea Wilson, Lawrence, and Brett Barker, Lawrence; grandparents Warren and Phyllis Schmitt, Hutchinson, and Marie Barker, Winfield; and dear friend Mary Cline Herbig, Hutchinson.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather Kenneth Barker, Winfield, and her cat Tammy.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tim Soule presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Brooke Barker Fund at Hutchinson Community Foundation, in care of the mortuary, 1219 N. Main.
